The Intimate Wedding

There’s something very unique and special about an intimate wedding ceremony at Salcombe Farm surrounded by your closest friends and family. A small personal celebration at The Barn is every bit as beautiful as a larger marquee celebration.

Up to 30 guests can attend an intimate wedding. The minimum group size is 12.

Intimate weddings are available all year and take place at our stunning luxury holiday let Barn with the ceremony taking place on the back terrace at the barn or outside The Treehouse. The intimate spaces add something very special for your small, intimate wedding. The Barn with its outdoor terrace area can comfortably accommodate up to 30 guests for a civil ceremony and is perfect for celebratory drinks following the ceremony. 

We also offer an afternoon/evening package with the ceremony from 3pm followed by a champagne reception and a sumptuous wedding feast early evening. The seating will always be decadent long tables for up to 30 guests equipped with crisp white linen, fine cutlery, and candles.

Accommodation

The Treehouse

The Treehouse 3 nights accommodation in the Treehouse for the couple.

The Barn

3 nights luxury accommodation for up to a maximum of 18 wedding guests in 6 double ensuite bedrooms. 3 rooms have extra beds boosting the accommodation from 12 to 18 where the 3 rooms with the extra beds are used. *

This price is exclusive of VAT. (Based on 12 people attending the wedding lunch and staying in the barn for 3 nights for dates in September 2024). Please provide us with your guest numbers and your dates and we will confirm pricing.

Accommodation arrangements for other guests

A further 12 guests (This could be an extra 18 guests if the Barn is used for sleeping just 12) who have accommodation elsewhere can join for the wedding ceremony and celebrations. We can provide details of accommodation that extra guests might like to book, some of these accommodation options are within easy walking distance of Salcombe Farm.

*We cannot offer rooms to your guests on an individual basis but if you choose to offset costs by recouping the cost of the accommodation from your guests we can give you an indication of the individual room charge out rate.

The Venue

There is a choice of location for the wedding ceremony and for the wedding breakfast. We would recommend a visit to the venue this will help you to decide your preferred location for each part of your special day. Salcombe Farm is licensed to hold the marriage ceremony in various locations The wedding breakfast will normally be held on the terrace immediately beside the Barn but there are other options to consider that may be preferable based on the time of year and the prevailing weather.

THE WEDDING

The Registrar

The price doesn’t include the Registrar’s fees which you have to pay on top directly to the Registrars.

You’ll need to book the Registrar for your wedding ceremony, we can’t do that for you. You can reserve a date over the phone or online with the local Registrar, the fee is currently around £50 which guarantees your date. The couple also need to go along to their local Registrars office in person together to provide proof of residence and ID. That can be done at any time in the 11 months before your wedding date and MUST be done at least 28 days before your wedding date.

Don’t ring the Registrar to book your date til you’ve checked with us that we’ve got the date available.

If you decide to leave your little paradise at Salcombe Farm, you’ll find an array of enticing options awaiting you. Take a leisurely 15-minute stroll along idyllic country lanes, passing by fragrant hedgerows and charming thatched cottages, and you’ll arrive at the nearest restaurants in Salcombe. And if you continue your walk for another 10 minutes, you’ll reach the heart of the town, where you’ll discover a delightful assortment of shops, restaurants, cafés, and pubs. All of this, accompanied by the breathtaking backdrop of the Salcombe Estuary, one of the most awe-inspiring destinations in Devon.
